Since tomorrow is the official first day of the fall season, I figured today would be the last appropriate time to blog about my trip to Charleston during this past summer! Even though it was technically a work trip (one day I'll get around to blogging Jo's wedding...!) my husband and I took a few extra days to make a little vacay out of it.

Winter is coming! (but not for several months...)
Game of Thrones fans were all a flutter last week for the launch of the seventh season's premiere. Though I've never watch a single episode, my sisters, Nikki & Natalie, and bro-in-law Ryan are obsessed. What started out as a themed dinner they were planning QUICKLY grew into a huge party and before we knew it elaborate decorations were involved. But as many people know, the Cannon girls take party planning very seriously! Like with any of our family gatherings, my duty was to photograph and document the event. (Upon looking at the images I'm convinced we could start a family party/event planning business (if we had any spare time!)) “They could see she was a real Princess and no question about it, now that she had felt one pea all the way through twenty mattresses and twenty more feather beds. Nobody but a Princess could be so delicate.” -Hans Christian Andersen, The Princess and the Pea A year ago today, Penelope entered the earth making me an aunt once more and she's been such a blessing to our family ever since. For P's 1st Birthday Portrait Session it was a no brainer what the theme should be: Princess and the Pea! The story of Princess and the Pea has always been a favorite of mine. Our own little Princess P has endured many nights unable to sleep so one must conclude that she is a genuine princess, not to mention she has a natural grace and sweetness about her. She was such a doll during her birthday session and played her part to a "T"... or should I say "P"?!
Each year on Josh and I's anniversary we take a photo of our photo from the prior year. On our first anniversary we were still living in Houston but took a trip up to NYC to celebrate our first year of wedded bliss! Our 2nd and 3rd anniversaries were also spent in NYC, this time as residents, so up until this year, every anniversary had been spent in NYC! Having recently moved back to town, it was exciting to spend our 4th anniversary in TX, back where everything began.
Back in March I met up with my sister, Nikki, in D.C for one of her many half marathon races! It was my third time to visit our nation's beautiful capital however it was Nikki's first time. We froze our tooshies of as we hit up many of the famous monuments and explored the city on our weekend trip!
