"You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." — Christopher Robin Today we celebrated Maddie's, I mean, Wonder Woman's, belated birthday. Maddie's birthday is at the beginning of December, but since Natalie, her mother/my sister is in fully Nutcracker swing at that point, we always throw her party in January. Party pics to come, but until then enjoy our Wonder Woman themed photo shoot from Galveston. Proud of this sweet little niece of mine. The last four years have been filled with so much joy with Maddie in our lives. She really is a supergirl in our book! Happy Birthday, Maddie!

"Each year, the Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch that he thinks is the most sincere. He's gotta pick this one. He's got to. I don't see how a pumpkin patch can be more sincere than this one. You can look around and there's not a sign of hypocrisy. Nothing but sincerity as far as the eye can see." -It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Taking my two nieces recently to the pumpkin patch was quite a fun way to celebrate the fall season. We went to the same little patch I would visit when I was a little kid and I loved returning their once again with them. We decided to make a little photoshoot out of it since Grandma had bought them the cutest pumpkin dresses!
"Our arms start from the back because they were once wings." -Martha Graham I've had the great pleasure of watching many of Bay Area Houston Ballet & Theatre's company dancers grow from a young age. As Feijoo Ballet School (the studio I am employed at as a Tap and Theatre Dance Instructor) shares the same space with BAHBT I often have the opportunity getting to watch the dancers rehearse. This month they had their performance of the classic ballet Swan Lake. I was able to capture some special moments both in the rehearsal process as well as during their first dress rehearsal on stage.
"A cousin is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost." -Marion C. Garretty I have the fortune of living near my two nieces that live here in Houston but my five other nieces and nephews live off in Arizona and I only get to see them about once a year. Recently the Arizona nieces and nephews came to town and getting some cousins portraits in was a must!
Since moving back to Houston I've found a home at Feijoo Ballet School teaching tap and theatre dance. Along with my regular classes, I have also kicked off a new performance series for the studio with our first production being this last month- Black Box on Broadway! We transformed their big studio into a Black Box theatre space with the help of some lighting installation, flat set pieces, fabulous costumes, and the splashy red show curtain.
