This weekend Bay Area Houston Ballet & Theatre will be opening their season with a mixed repertoire production, Next Giant Leap. In honor of their kick off performance, I'm excited to share images from their 2019-2020 Season Portrait Session!

"Always timid, never took a chance Then I felt his magic And my heart began to dance." -Mel Brooks This year, 2019, marks the 10 year anniversary of two very important events for me. May 16th, 2009 marked the birth of Caitlin Cannon Photography and on June 3, 2009, on the way home from a photoshoot I was involved in a tragic car accident, which took the life of my dear friend Makenzie. My photography anniversary arrived this year and my life was so completely chaotic that I didn't even get a chance to celebrate. I was teaching non stop, caught up in client shoots, and getting ready for my first performing contract in 6 years! June arrived and I was immersed in The Producers at Casa Manana.
"Music is the social act of communication among people, a gesture of friendship, the strongest there is." -Malcolm Arnold I've had the opportunity of knowing Kevin from Day 1. He is always been an extremely gifted violinist who's talents I used during my own wedding ceremony. Kevin is a senior at Clear Lake High School and met friends Christopher, Adam, and Zahi in the school's esteemed orchestra program. They quickly found that their friendship translated into collaboration and they formed the Varsity String Quartet.
I first worked Derrick several years ago in a community theatre production of South Pacific. He served as the show's Music Director and I the choreographer. It was the birth not only of years of artistic collaboration but great friendship. We have talked about taking the conductor headshots for years and I was excited to finally make it happen a couple month's back. Derrick is extremely gifted in all things music and I can't wait to see where life continues to take him. Wishing you lots of success with these new headshots, my friend!
It's always such a pleasure combing my two loves- photographing and choreography. This summer I had the pleasure of choreographing Home Grown Theatre's production of Godspell. During one of our performances I put down my choreographer notepad and picked up my camera to capture some memorable production stills. It was a pleasure to collaborate with director, Mark Stonebarger, and musical/artistic director Derrick Bready and to get to know and work with this incredibly talented cast made for a very special summer.
