It's always such a pleasure combing my two loves- photographing and choreography. This summer I had the pleasure of choreographing Home Grown Theatre's production of Godspell. During one of our performances I put down my choreographer notepad and picked up my camera to capture some memorable production stills. It was a pleasure to collaborate with director, Mark Stonebarger, and musical/artistic director Derrick Bready and to get to know and work with this incredibly talented cast made for a very special summer.

When Josh and I made the decision to move back to Texas last year, one of the immediate thoughts in my mind was, "We'll be able to go to the Rodeo!"
We hadn't been in 4 years and had an absolute blast. We ate WAY too much fried food (but it was so worth it), rocked out to Zac Brown Band in concert, and soared over the whole carnival in the Sky Ride (my fave part of the night). Josh and I lately have been so busy and on opposite schedule so its always special when we get to spend a night on the town, eating some good food, listening to great music, and enjoying each other's company. ![]() Wham! Bam! Punch! Pow! Thanks to having a ballerina mother and being born right in the middle of Nutcracker season, sweet Maddie always has to wait have her birthday party in January! But boy was it worth the wait. Her Superhero party (with a strong Wonder Woman emphasis) was a huge hit. I'm amazed at how time flies with this little niece of mine. So grateful for the joy she exudes and the love she she gives so genuinely. Any day celebrating Maddie is a a SUPER fun day!
Winter is coming! (but not for several months...)
Game of Thrones fans were all a flutter last week for the launch of the seventh season's premiere. Though I've never watch a single episode, my sisters, Nikki & Natalie, and bro-in-law Ryan are obsessed. What started out as a themed dinner they were planning QUICKLY grew into a huge party and before we knew it elaborate decorations were involved. But as many people know, the Cannon girls take party planning very seriously! Like with any of our family gatherings, my duty was to photograph and document the event. (Upon looking at the images I'm convinced we could start a family party/event planning business (if we had any spare time!)) I know I'm a little behind with the whole "year in review" thing but I figured as long
as I published this before February 1st I was still good...! In no particular order, here are my top 16 portraits of 2016 and why they were my favorites of the year. |
