“They could see she was a real Princess and no question about it, now that she had felt one pea all the way through twenty mattresses and twenty more feather beds. Nobody but a Princess could be so delicate.” -Hans Christian Andersen, The Princess and the Pea A year ago today, Penelope entered the earth making me an aunt once more and she's been such a blessing to our family ever since. For P's 1st Birthday Portrait Session it was a no brainer what the theme should be: Princess and the Pea! The story of Princess and the Pea has always been a favorite of mine. Our own little Princess P has endured many nights unable to sleep so one must conclude that she is a genuine princess, not to mention she has a natural grace and sweetness about her. She was such a doll during her birthday session and played her part to a "T"... or should I say "P"?! And just as I did for her first portrait session, here is a little letter to my littlest niece! My dear Sweet P,
I love that from the moment you entered our lives you have brought us nothing but joy and blessings. I love your laugh and the way your eyes crinkle up when you smile. I love that when you see me across the room you stretch out your arm as far as you can. I love how you want to do everything your big sister does. I love how you are SO CLOSE to being able to walk. And how when you crawl you push off of with one foot. I love that you throw your head backwards whenever you get the chance, and that proud look you get on your face afterwards. I love to hear your giggle when I give you raspberries. I love to think about how big and beautiful you are going to get. And then I don't. I love you so much and am proud to be your Aunt C! Happy Birthday sweet girl. Here to many, many more to come! Love Always, Aunt C
