"I'll eat you up, I love you so." -Where the Wild Things Are Dear little Cooper has turned ONE! Maggie, Cooper's mommy and one of my best friends, approached me about photographing a cake smash shoot for Cooper and I was honored! I adored all the cute props she brought and loved trying out a new location, Elva Lovit Park in Dickinson. At first Cooper seemed a bit confused when we gave him free rein on the chocolate cake but he quickly got the gist of it! After the shoot as we loaded up all the props back in the car, Maggie was wiping all the chocolate off of Cooper when out of nowhere it started down pouring!! We were drenched and laughing our heads off. Thank goodness it hadn't happened five minutes earlier or it would have been right in the middle of our session. Good thing Cooper needed a rinse!
Wishing you a very happy birthday, Cooper! Looking forward to watching you grow through the years. You bring so much happiness to the world, especially to your amazing mama. Proud to be your Aunt C/official photographer!

When Josh and I made the decision to move back to Texas last year, one of the immediate thoughts in my mind was, "We'll be able to go to the Rodeo!"
We hadn't been in 4 years and had an absolute blast. We ate WAY too much fried food (but it was so worth it), rocked out to Zac Brown Band in concert, and soared over the whole carnival in the Sky Ride (my fave part of the night). Josh and I lately have been so busy and on opposite schedule so its always special when we get to spend a night on the town, eating some good food, listening to great music, and enjoying each other's company. Since tomorrow is the official first day of the fall season, I figured today would be the last appropriate time to blog about my trip to Charleston during this past summer! Even though it was technically a work trip (one day I'll get around to blogging Jo's wedding...!) my husband and I took a few extra days to make a little vacay out of it.
Winter is coming! (but not for several months...)
Game of Thrones fans were all a flutter last week for the launch of the seventh season's premiere. Though I've never watch a single episode, my sisters, Nikki & Natalie, and bro-in-law Ryan are obsessed. What started out as a themed dinner they were planning QUICKLY grew into a huge party and before we knew it elaborate decorations were involved. But as many people know, the Cannon girls take party planning very seriously! Like with any of our family gatherings, my duty was to photograph and document the event. (Upon looking at the images I'm convinced we could start a family party/event planning business (if we had any spare time!)) Each year on Josh and I's anniversary we take a photo of our photo from the prior year. On our first anniversary we were still living in Houston but took a trip up to NYC to celebrate our first year of wedded bliss! Our 2nd and 3rd anniversaries were also spent in NYC, this time as residents, so up until this year, every anniversary had been spent in NYC! Having recently moved back to town, it was exciting to spend our 4th anniversary in TX, back where everything began.
