"You don't find the happy life, You make it." -Thomas S. Monson I simply love photographing family portraits and this session was no exception. I know this beautiful family through church- once upon a time Karen was my Sunday School teacher and I remember when all of her kiddos were just little tots. Their session was filled with so much joy and laughter and I loved seeing the genuine friendship that these siblings shared. It made my heart happy to know I was capturing these special memories for this family as it will be two years time till they're all together again. Wishing Bryon, their oldest, the best as he serves his mission for our church in the great state of Idaho!

My youngest niece turns two years old today, however I feel as if she's been "two" for a long time now. Penelope is full of life, light, and energy and is such a blessing to our family. Her current obsession is Paddington Bear (aka "Bear Bear") and it couldn't have made for a more perfect theme for her birthday portrait session. She was a total trooper for wearing a bug blue coat in the middle of summer and didn't seem to mind one bit! Kemah Boardwalk's red telephone booth and League City Park's red train provided the perfect atmosphere for our shoot.
P, Uncle Josh and I love you dearly. Happy 2nd birthday!! I've known Amanda for as long as I can remember, growing up at church together. Years ago I made my musical theatre debut as Little Red Riding Hood opposite Amanda's Rapunzel in Into the Woods Jr. Amanda is a very talented performer and spends the school year influencing young students as a theatre teacher. Her headshot session was wonderful! At the end she told me that though she started out nervous, but I couldn't tell one bit. Hope these shots serve her well going in all her professional endeavors.
"I'll eat you up, I love you so." -Where the Wild Things Are Dear little Cooper has turned ONE! Maggie, Cooper's mommy and one of my best friends, approached me about photographing a cake smash shoot for Cooper and I was honored! I adored all the cute props she brought and loved trying out a new location, Elva Lovit Park in Dickinson. At first Cooper seemed a bit confused when we gave him free rein on the chocolate cake but he quickly got the gist of it! After the shoot as we loaded up all the props back in the car, Maggie was wiping all the chocolate off of Cooper when out of nowhere it started down pouring!! We were drenched and laughing our heads off. Thank goodness it hadn't happened five minutes earlier or it would have been right in the middle of our session. Good thing Cooper needed a rinse!
Wishing you a very happy birthday, Cooper! Looking forward to watching you grow through the years. You bring so much happiness to the world, especially to your amazing mama. Proud to be your Aunt C/official photographer! |
