A few months ago I had the pleasure of photographing friends Phillip and Colleen to commemorate their one year anniversary of wedded bliss. Colleen and I have performed together at Theatre Under the Stars and Houston Grand Opera. She is such a beautiful person, inside and out. I've photographed a number of couples over the years and sometimes it can be a challenge for the men I'm shooting to feel natural in front of the camera. This can not be said about Phillip. The way he would look at her, kiss her hand, pull her in for a dance... it's like I wasn't there. It's always wonderful to photography a couple in love, but there was something extra special about these two. I could tell there was a deep found respect and desire to care for one another. Central Park in the Fall is the perfect setting and I will never tire of doing sessions there! It was the perfect backdrop for this newlywed couple and I look forward to many 2015 park shoots!!! Book your session by sending an email to [email protected]. It's never too early to start planning all of the photo sessions you'll need this year!

Right before the weather got super yucky and cold, I snuck in a beautiful Central Park shoot with this adorable family. Shaiffu and I serve in the Primary (the children's Sunday School) together and I just love her family. She approached me about taking some maternity photos for her and I was even more thrilled when she suggested making it a family session. Alex and Shaiffu's two year old daughter, Koelle, is absolutely precious, constantly sneaking herself into frames that were originally just going to be of Mommy. While watching little Miss Koelle during our session, I couldn't help but imagine what their new little bundle of joy will be like. If she's anything like her big sister, they are surely in for a treat! Little children are such beauties and I can't wait to one day to have children of my own to love and photograph. Shaiffu is a beauty. I love when clients tell me that they aren't very comfortable in front of the camera because 99% of the time it doesn't show! From the very short amount of time I've known her she's become a huge example to me on being kind and understanding. Her love for her family and for her faith is truly inspiring and I was honored to capture her radiating glow! Photographing the human spirit is my one of my absolute favorite things. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing a beautiful sunset or a mountainside, but the challenge and joy of encapsulating a moment in someone's life gives me a rush. On December 14th, the Sanhueza Family welcomed their new little girl, Palmyra, and I couldn't be more happy for them.
One of the very first shoots I did after we made the move up to New Jersey was for one of my dearest friends, Nikol. I met Niki when we were both contracted to perform in Theatre Under the Star's production of Annie. From Day 1 it was a complete love affair. My love and appreciation for her friendship continues to grow as I watch her pursue her dreams. Her love for inspiration and collaboration is so genuine and special. This photo session could not have been a more magical experience. Please check out her website zenrednyc.com. Her writing is so thought provoking and insightful that you won't want to miss out!
