"True love is not something you fall in, but grow in." -Lynn G. Robbins It feels like just yesterday I photographed Christine & Nick's Engagement Portraits and now they're having a baby!! They wanted to keep things fun and casual for their Maternity Portraits so we ventured to Frobergs Farm in Alvin for a bit of strawberry picking fun.

I know I'm a little behind with the whole "year in review" thing but I figured as long
as I published this before February 1st I was still good...! In no particular order, here are my top 16 portraits of 2016 and why they were my favorites of the year. For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him. 1 Samuel 1:27 Maggie is one of my dearest friends from childhood. Every since we were little girls she's always professed her deep love of motherhood and how much she couldn't wait to become a mom. This dream was partially realized when she and her husband, Zach, became pet parents to sweet Sophie. Well I'm happy to announce that Maggie's dream of motherhood will be coming into fruition this July as she and Zach welcome in their child into the world! So excited to see them become parents (and for Sophie to become a big sister!)
"The ultimate treasures on earth and in heaven are our children." Dallin H. Oaks Hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day! Speaking of fathers and families, I'm FINALLY getting around to posting this fun Family Maternity Session I did for my sister, Natalie, and her growing family when I was in Houston last month. Since Natalie is about to pop out Baby Girl #2 it was our last chance to get in some portraits before their family of three becomes four.
I feel very blessed to have these three beautiful humans as my family. I've always loved Natalie but my adoration for her as only grown as I've watched her become a mama. She and Ryan are such fun, caring parents and great examples to me as I prepare to start a family of my own. If Baby Girl #2 is anything like her big sister, Madeline, we're surely in for a treat! Maddie is spunky, incredibly smart, and has her Aunt C wrapped around her finger!! When Nat was pregnant with Maddie, we photographed her maternity portraits at Challenger Park. This time around we found ourselves back at the park so I guess it's become a tradition! Always love photographing in this beautiful and spacious location, especially with my favorite people. Just got back from a quick trip to TX. Though my main focus for the trip was for a choreography gig I was ecstatic to snatch a few photos for my sister, Natalie, and her growing family. I'm so excited for the arrival of my newest niece come this July.... if she's anything like her big sister, I know we're in for a treat! Natalie wanted some simple yet elegant maternity shots in the nursery. I loved that she wore a delicate pink lace top to match the soft pink curtains. And can we talk about how tiny that bump is?! It really isn't fair. I love this sister of mine. She's such a beautiful mama to crazy, adorable Maddie and I'm overjoyed that she's bringing another incredible girl into our family and the world!
Stay tuned for the Family Maternity Session we also got in while I was in town. |
