Happy New Year!! Now that the holidays are over, I'm getting to play catch up before Spring Portrait season kicks into high gear. I've been so anxious to share some of the images I took on Josh and I's recent family trip to Hawaii. It was my first time there in my adult life and it was magical experiencing the beauty of Oahu and Kauai.

"Always timid, never took a chance Then I felt his magic And my heart began to dance." -Mel Brooks This year, 2019, marks the 10 year anniversary of two very important events for me. May 16th, 2009 marked the birth of Caitlin Cannon Photography and on June 3, 2009, on the way home from a photoshoot I was involved in a tragic car accident, which took the life of my dear friend Makenzie. My photography anniversary arrived this year and my life was so completely chaotic that I didn't even get a chance to celebrate. I was teaching non stop, caught up in client shoots, and getting ready for my first performing contract in 6 years! June arrived and I was immersed in The Producers at Casa Manana.
My youngest niece turns two years old today, however I feel as if she's been "two" for a long time now. Penelope is full of life, light, and energy and is such a blessing to our family. Her current obsession is Paddington Bear (aka "Bear Bear") and it couldn't have made for a more perfect theme for her birthday portrait session. She was a total trooper for wearing a bug blue coat in the middle of summer and didn't seem to mind one bit! Kemah Boardwalk's red telephone booth and League City Park's red train provided the perfect atmosphere for our shoot.
P, Uncle Josh and I love you dearly. Happy 2nd birthday!! When Josh and I made the decision to move back to Texas last year, one of the immediate thoughts in my mind was, "We'll be able to go to the Rodeo!"
We hadn't been in 4 years and had an absolute blast. We ate WAY too much fried food (but it was so worth it), rocked out to Zac Brown Band in concert, and soared over the whole carnival in the Sky Ride (my fave part of the night). Josh and I lately have been so busy and on opposite schedule so its always special when we get to spend a night on the town, eating some good food, listening to great music, and enjoying each other's company. Wham! Bam! Punch! Pow! Thanks to having a ballerina mother and being born right in the middle of Nutcracker season, sweet Maddie always has to wait have her birthday party in January! But boy was it worth the wait. Her Superhero party (with a strong Wonder Woman emphasis) was a huge hit. I'm amazed at how time flies with this little niece of mine. So grateful for the joy she exudes and the love she she gives so genuinely. Any day celebrating Maddie is a a SUPER fun day!
