Merry Christmas Eve!!
One of my favorite things about marrying into my husband's family is their annual tradition of cutting down the Christmas tree! Ever since Josh and Stacie were really little the family has gone out to a Christmas Treen Farm to pick out and cut down a tree. They even have a song they sing as the tree is being chopped. Having grown up in a household with a fake tree, having a real one facinates me. I love the charm and character of a real tree! It brings an extra bit of Christmas cheer to the season.

Robert and his girlfriend Bekka were in the city this week for a fun holiday trip. Bekka had told Robert that she'd always wanted to skate in Rockefeller Center's Rink, which spawned a grand idea for Robert. The Rock has a special Engagement Package that after your 90 minute group skate they clear the ice for you to skate to center rink and pop the question! Now is all of this wasn't romantic enough, Robert wanted to have the moment captured via photography which is where I came in.
You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret, all the best people are! -Alice in Wonderland My mom is a very special woman and to show her how special she is, for her birthday last month my sisters and I thew her a surprise birthday party!! The theme was Alice in Wonderland, an absolute favorite of Mom's. Mom is very much like Alice; clever, curious, and imaginative. It was so much fun getting to celebrate my mom with all of her loved ones. It especially wonderful being united with all of my sisters to honor the woman who raised us and taught us all we know.
“The love of a family is life’s greatest blessings.” -Unknown I absolutely love photographing my sister, Natalie, and her adorable family. Always have always will. And it doesn't hurt that her girls are absolutely adorable and love to take pictures! Their latest family session in Houston was an extra special one since it was the first one since sweet little Penelope has entered the world.
Time for the blog post I promised a few weeks ago... (Fair warning: an overload of photos for this one! I just loved this trip so much!!)
Just over two years ago, my husband and I moved up to Jersey and my sweet in laws drove with us all the way from Texas. Their recent trip up here was their first time back and we were thrilled! Josh and I had been wanting to get away from the city, so we decided to all go out to PA for a weekend in beautiful Lancaster County. We stayed at the King's Cottage, a quintessential bed & breakfast experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone and I hope we can make it back again some time. I enjoyed visiting several markets and local boutique shops in town. A highlight of the trip was certainly the Sunset Covered Bridge tour by Strasburg Scooters. The two hour tour consisted of exploring the countryside, visiting an amish family farm, and stopping at one of Lancaster's historic covered bridges. I was in photo heaven as the golden sun set across the wide open farmland. I'm always in awe of the earth's natural beauty. Driving along the country road on the scooter was a nice change of pace in contrast to the hustle and bustle of NYC's sidewalks! We also had the great pleasure of riding on the Strasburg Railroads. I felt like I was in a train scene of a classic film! Wouldn't it be so nice if traveling could still be that luxurious?! I can't tell you how much this weekend in PA was needed. It was wonderful for Josh and I to spend some quality time together as work as kept us both very busy and on opposite schedules. I'm very grateful for the chance to spend time with my in-laws and create fun memories with them. They are two of the most kind and generous people I know. and I'm proud to be a part of their family. My only complaint about the trip? It wasn't long enough! |
