Four years ago I photographed Carson for a Headshot Session and I was pleased to have him recently in front of my camera once more. He has grown up so much in the years since his last shoot. We had a great shoot getting him some fresh and updated shots to match his matured self! We had a bit of light rain fall the morning of his session, but it worked out well as we ducked underneath the awnings at League City Park (not to mention it cooled the temp down!) Hope these headshots serve him well as he continues on path of the performing arts.

“There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.” —C.S. Lewis Several weeks ago I got an email from a Mom I know from the dance school I grew up at asking me what my availability for a senior session was. I replied with package info and dates, and at the end I tagged on "Is Delilah really a Senior, already?" to which she responded, "Oh no, this is for her older brother!" I was relieved to learn that Delilah was a sophomore and that her brother, Solomon, was the one graduating this year!
I know I'm a little behind with the whole "year in review" thing but I figured as long
as I published this before February 1st I was still good...! In no particular order, here are my top 16 portraits of 2016 and why they were my favorites of the year. For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him. 1 Samuel 1:27 Maggie is one of my dearest friends from childhood. Every since we were little girls she's always professed her deep love of motherhood and how much she couldn't wait to become a mom. This dream was partially realized when she and her husband, Zach, became pet parents to sweet Sophie. Well I'm happy to announce that Maggie's dream of motherhood will be coming into fruition this July as she and Zach welcome in their child into the world! So excited to see them become parents (and for Sophie to become a big sister!)
"Life is better and much happier as hearts turn toward Family and as Families live in the light of the gospel of Christ." -M. Russell Ballard Yessie is one of the classiest ladies I know- always dressed to the nines and so kind. This family of four was a family of three when I first met them at church two years ago and I have loved watching their adorable children learn and grow over the years. Lyla was so much fun to photograph... she'd flash big grins my way and pop her shoulder to her chin. Ollie was so well behaved and loved playing peek a boo with me behind the camera! Beautiful children. Beautiful parents. Inside and out!
I was truly ecstatic when Yessie reached out to me about taking their Family's portraits and the fact that she wanted to do them on the Brooklyn Bridge was the cherry on top! On the day of our session the weather couldn't have been better and the pedestrian traffic on the bridge wasn't bad at all. They started out in fancy outfits and then transitioned into a more casual look for photos in and around the Brooklyn Bridge Promenade. So grateful to this sweet family for entrusting me with capturing their special love. I hope these portraits make fantastic Christmas cards for them and wonderful memories for a lifetime to come. |
