"Family is not an important thing. It's everything." -Michael J. Fox I've been blessed to know Stephenie and her family for several years through church. For their family portraits we started off in their loving home where I photographed Irene, Alex, and Emily with their instruments. Then we ventured to a local park to take in the beautiful portraits of everyone all together. We even snuck in some time for a few pics of Emily showing off her gymnastic skills.
This family has been through so much this past year since Harvey hit and I was more than thrilled to take their family portraits. I hope that as they continue to rebuild, that these photos will serve as a reminder of their love, hope, and strength.

"Happiness is the atmosphere in which all good affections grow." - Thomas Bray The moment I started this sibling session, I just knew their portraits going to be perfect! Katie is the most loving big sis, Nick loves to make jokes and be brotherly, and little Emma is a princess. Their sibling dynamic was a joy to photograph. After photographing the them altogether, we excused Nick, and caught some fun moments of just the girls. The last shots of them in their ballet leotards are some of my favorite. They're going to love looking back at these moments years from now and I'm honored to have captured it for them!
"Even the smallest one can change the world." -Peter Rabbit Alicia, James, and Victoria are some of the sweetest kids I know and I had such a fun time capturing portraits of them. Their sibling love is so strong and I think its quite evident in these images. To make these Spring portraits just THAT MUCH cuter they brought along their two bunnies, Flopsy and Mopsy, to share the spotlight. (Four days prior to the shoot, Mopsy had babies and one of them even made it into some of our photos!) Love this sweet family and hold them in a special place in my heart- so glad we got to do this Easter/Spring session with them.
"You me us Three sisters Three journeys One place to call home." -Rashi Singh After several time of rescheduling, thanks to the crazy wintery weather we've had this season (in Houston!) this schedule was worth the wait! When the day came for Caroline, Lauren, and Evelyn's portraits the weather couldn't have been lovelier. These sweet sisters wore cream lace dresses and bare feet as they showed off their beautiful trusty steed, Steve. It truly was magical seeing them all together, with the sun beaming down on their smiling faces. Twenty, thirty years from now, I hope that they look back at these photos with great fondness and treasure them always.
This awesome family was a wonderful way to finish out my year. Since the whole family was in town for the holidays, it was a perfect time to get everyone together for a session. I love that about the holidays- it brings us close to the loved ones we may not usually see! Dawn chose the beautiful Heritage Park (quickly becoming a new favorite for me!) for our location and we had a wonderful time! It may have been a bit chilly that morning, because Houston decided to have a winter this year, but they were all troopers. When everyone arrived at the park I asked if we wanted to do the big family photos first or start off in groups, to which the matriarch of the family quickly replied, "Family First!" Though her intent was to get out of the cold as quickly as possible, the phrase "Family First" put a HUGE grin on my face. I've known this family for a long time and no how important their family is to them. Honored to have forever captured them together in family portraits!
