"Behind you, all your memories, Before you, all your dreams, Around you, all who love you, Within you, all you need." -unknown I've watched Annalise grow from a tiny little dancer to a tall elegant young woman. I've always loved watching her dance but this year she has really proven herself to be a true star on stage. Watching her perform the Sugar Plum Pas de Deux in the Nutcracker this past December was inspiring! She has grown so much in her dance ability, always caring herself with elegance and grace and I can't wait to see where her talents and abilities take her in life. Good luck at SMU next year, sweet Annalise!

pas de deux /ˌpä də ˈdo͝o/ noun: a dance for two One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is watching kids grow in front of my camera! Jason has matured from sweet little boy to a kind and thoughtful young man over the years. I was thrilled that he brought his beautiful and lovely girlfriend, Indi, along for his most recent portrait session. During the school year, Jason and Indi study at the prestigious HARID Conservatory, a professional training school for gifted young dancers. Jason's portrait sessions are always so much fun but adding Indi into the mix this time made things even more exciting. She is a gorgeous dancer and her energy is infectious! The two of them together make a perfect pair. Enjoy their fun loving, effortlessly beautiful portraits!
Last weekend Feijoo Ballet School had a small Black Box preview performance for all the students that will be represented FBS this weekend at the YAGP Regional auditions in Houston. I was so excited to snap some shots of the performances that day and even more excited for the opportunity these dancers have to participate in this prestigious competition. I know they're going to do wonderfully. So proud of all these beautiful young dancers and wish them the best this weekend!
First blog post of the new year! Welcome to 2018, y'all!
Recently I photographed my friend Kirstin. We first met several years back performing in 42nd Street at Casa Manana in Fort Worth. Kirstin is an incredibly talented dancer and performer- her Broadway credits include Cinderella & A Bronx Tale. In May of last year, while she was still in A Bronx Tale, she tore her ACL. Having family here in Houston, she has spent the last 6 months down here for surgery and recovery. And can we talk about what an epic 6 months she picked to be in Houston? She lived through Harvey, celebrated the Astros winning the World Series, and saw snow fall on Houston for the first time in almost a decade! On December 8th, 2017 all of Houston woke up to the biggest surprise: SNOW! Now for those of you confused as to why Texans make such a big deal, you have to know- this only happens once a decade. It was so magical to wake up to our homes and neighbors covered in a thin layer of snow. Luckily for me, that morning I was scheduled to be at UHCL to photograph Bay Area Houston Ballet & Theatre's Nutcracker school performances. A ballet photoshoot in the snow was in order!
