"Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?" -Winnie the Pooh For Halloween this year my sweet little nieces Maddie and Penny dressed up as the White Swan and the Black Swan. These sisters love ballet so much just like their mama. Halloween morning came and even with a bit of rain we ventured to Clear Lake Park for some quick pics.
I want to remember how Maddie kept asking if that was real water. I want to remember how Penny was a bit OCD about keeping the white and black feathers together. I want to remember how Natalie critiqued Maddie's "swan" arms. I want to remember how Penny kept her headband on though she usually can't stand wearing things on her head. Can't wait for many more Halloweens with these sweet, funny girls!

"If you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely." -Roald Dahl Every time I photograph Sophie I'm sure of a couple of things: 1) We are going to have a lot of fun & 2) She's going to work the camera! For Sophie Fall session we used her lovely backyard for a backdrop, taking in the beautiful greenery and waterside. I have the pleasure of teaching Sophie at Feijoo Ballet School and week to week I see her grow as a dancer. However it's during these seasonal portrait sessions with her that I step back and see how much she's growing and maturing in a lovely young lady! And of course Bear, her large furry companion, joined us for a few shots, making the session even MORE fun. Looking forward to the next one with these two!
"Like seashells we are beautiful and unique, each with a story to tell." -unknown If you wind through my family tree a bit you would find that Lexi and Kylie are slightly related to me- their aunt is my sister! Its been several years since I last saw these sweet girls and I was so excited for our fun Galveston Portrait Session. First we started out underneath Pleasure Pier playing in the waves and sand. Then we made our way into some of my favorite local alleyways, capturing a mix of childhood innocence and some professional headshots they can use in their dance and acting ventures. My favorite part of the session was showing the girls a few pics on the camera, and they would let out uncontrollable giggles of joy! Hope they treasure these photos for many years to come.
My youngest niece turns two years old today, however I feel as if she's been "two" for a long time now. Penelope is full of life, light, and energy and is such a blessing to our family. Her current obsession is Paddington Bear (aka "Bear Bear") and it couldn't have made for a more perfect theme for her birthday portrait session. She was a total trooper for wearing a bug blue coat in the middle of summer and didn't seem to mind one bit! Kemah Boardwalk's red telephone booth and League City Park's red train provided the perfect atmosphere for our shoot.
P, Uncle Josh and I love you dearly. Happy 2nd birthday!! "I'll eat you up, I love you so." -Where the Wild Things Are Dear little Cooper has turned ONE! Maggie, Cooper's mommy and one of my best friends, approached me about photographing a cake smash shoot for Cooper and I was honored! I adored all the cute props she brought and loved trying out a new location, Elva Lovit Park in Dickinson. At first Cooper seemed a bit confused when we gave him free rein on the chocolate cake but he quickly got the gist of it! After the shoot as we loaded up all the props back in the car, Maggie was wiping all the chocolate off of Cooper when out of nowhere it started down pouring!! We were drenched and laughing our heads off. Thank goodness it hadn't happened five minutes earlier or it would have been right in the middle of our session. Good thing Cooper needed a rinse!
Wishing you a very happy birthday, Cooper! Looking forward to watching you grow through the years. You bring so much happiness to the world, especially to your amazing mama. Proud to be your Aunt C/official photographer! |
