Back at the beginning of the school year, I had the honor of directing and choreographing Feijoo Ballet School's inaugural production of Black Box on Broadway: A Musical Review. Thanks to the success of the Fall production, we were back this Spring with an extremely talented cast (which almost tripled in size!) and LOTS of great musical numbers. Throughout the rehearsal process I found myself in complete awe of each of these young performers. There was no shortage of talent in this bunch and they constantly impressed me with their hard work, enthusiasm, and tenacity. I particularly loved seeing the growth of those who participated in the Fall who were back for this production. Looking forward to watch this program continue to blossom and bloom! This show was blessed with the talents of so many incredible people... Ms. Candis, my incredible mother, costumed the show to perfection, my dear husband, Josh, created spectacular set pieces for the show. Jennifer Kelley TRANSFORMED the space with her dazzling lighting design, Derrick Bready, my trusted friend, served as our Music Director, and Keith Lalonde made magic happen with his fabulous accompaniment. Huge thanks to Lorna, Nelson, Melissa, and Natalie for their support and encouragement!
For the final production I juggled conducting music, cueing the lights, putting out some backstage "fires", and traded in my usual notepad for my Canon 7D. Enjoy these production stills I snatched from Downstage Right!
