"Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion." Martha GrahamWhile I was in Houston in July I was lucky enough to photograph Tara's Dance Portraits with the assistance of Kennedy. Anytime I get to photograph dancers I'm ecstatic- its combining all the things I love into one! I've had the great privilege of watching this gifted dancers since they were learning their plies ad tendus. Last year I made it to a performance of BAHBT's Nutcracker where I was able to see them perform Snow Pas together and as you can imagine I was filled with pride. They are both still so young but already show such passion and artistry in their dancing. I really can't wait to see where their careers take them.
As we planned their session, Tara's mom suggested Buffalo Bayou in Downtown Houston, the area she and her husband first lived in when they moved to Houston. I love when locations are special to clients. It inspires my creativity and continues to make happy memories in a beloved spot. Tara and Kennedy are such close friends and you can just tell they've danced with each other their whole lives. Loved capturing their friendship and talent!
