I met Ian about two years ago when I choreographed for Pearland High School's Choir. He's now going into his sophmore year at Oklahoma City University at a Musical Theatre major. We both happened to be in Houston at the same time this past July and I was thrilled to photograph some Headshots for him!
Pearland High School has produced some incredible talent over the last few years, Ian being among them, and I'm thrilled to have worked with them these last few years as a choreographer. I had the pleasure of seeing him in United Player's final production, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, in the title role this summer. His rendition of "Close Every Door" left me with chills down my arms. Not only is he immensely talented but he's also an incredibly kind and respectful young man. And I think he certainly could have a career in modeling if he wanted- the camera loves him! Excited to see what opportunities lie ahead for Ian and I hope these headshots help him find success in all of his proffesional endeavors.

"Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion." Martha GrahamWhile I was in Houston in July I was lucky enough to photograph Tara's Dance Portraits with the assistance of Kennedy. Anytime I get to photograph dancers I'm ecstatic- its combining all the things I love into one! I've had the great privilege of watching this gifted dancers since they were learning their plies ad tendus. Last year I made it to a performance of BAHBT's Nutcracker where I was able to see them perform Snow Pas together and as you can imagine I was filled with pride. They are both still so young but already show such passion and artistry in their dancing. I really can't wait to see where their careers take them.
As we planned their session, Tara's mom suggested Buffalo Bayou in Downtown Houston, the area she and her husband first lived in when they moved to Houston. I love when locations are special to clients. It inspires my creativity and continues to make happy memories in a beloved spot. Tara and Kennedy are such close friends and you can just tell they've danced with each other their whole lives. Loved capturing their friendship and talent! "Sisters are different flowers from the same garden." -Unknown Seeing as yesterday was National Sister Day today, I thought it would be fitting to post Maddie and Penny's very first Sister Portrait Session.
9 times out of 10 Maddie loves to get her photo taken and she was in an extra good mood during this session. She did exactly as she was told and was especially excited to hold her baby sister, Penelope, for the very 1st time. Becoming a big sister has been quite an adjustment Madeline who's used to have all of the attention ALL the time but you can tell that she really loves her new little sister. I love to think about the sweet friendship these two sisters will develop over the years and hope that they look back at these photos and hold them close to their hearts. Happy Sister Day to my 3 older sisters who lovingly accepted me as their baby sis. I adore each of them so much and treasure the times we spend together! "Do you suppose she's a wildflower?" |
