Always Be Like Water- ZenRedNYC's Artistic Portraits

If you've followed my work for the last few years, I'm sure you'll recognize this gorgeous red head, soul sista of mine. I had no idea of the adventures I was in for when Nikol and I's friendship was born 4 years ago! In addition to her incredible performing and choreography talents, she is also an inspired Life Coach empowering artists and creatives. We've collaborated on several shoots now for her business, Zen Red NYC, each one growing in our artistic ability and collaborative trust. Her most recent shoot took us to Fort Tilden Park and Far Rockaway Beach in Queens, NY. 

Before the shoot, Niki and I discussed her ideas and vision for the shoot and about the remarkable journey we had made from each of her past sessions. They have all been very reflective on where she was in her life at the time- first ones were embracing nature and the fire within, last year we focused on the savvy NYC business side of her, and this year she wanted to focus on water and the flow of femininity. I've watched Nikol go through so much fire and pain over the years and it brings me SO much joy to see that she has recently found the love her life. The happiness and love she has felt since meeting her dream man shines through in these photos! Her confidence as woman in love couldn't be more evident. 

Our time in Fort Tilden and Far Rockaway was certainly an adventure and we had such a wonderful time soaking up the beautiful trailed paths, stunning views, and sandy beach (which we had completely to ourselves that day!) With Niki, I feel a complete trust in collaboration. The more we work together, the more we understand each other's artistic visions and feed off of one another's energy. It's a thrilling process and I find it enriches and inspires my creativity. Niki is a remarkable human being who I feel so very blessed to have as one of my best friends. This shoot was an extra special one- however are we going to top it?!
