'Tis the season for Family Portrait Sessions since everyone is gearing up for their annual Christmas and Holiday cards! Let's kick things off with this adorable Jersey family.
I met Royley and Sarah through church up here in Jersey and they are what I like to call good people- kind hearted, thoughtful, and compassionate. I was so touched when Sarah reached out to me to photograph their family. It has been quite awhile since their whole family had been all in the same place so I was honored to capture the reunion on camera. We caught the start of a beautiful golden sunset at Liberty State Park and had a wonderful time! The love in this family runs deep. I have certainly fallen in love with them and after seeing these photos, I know you will too!

Apple picking is arguably the quintessential autumn activity. Its easily my favorite of the season! My husband and I enjoyed our visit two years ago to Hillview Farm so much that we just had to make it back there again this year. Their apples are delicious and the farm lives up to his name- the views are stunning a top the hill! We walked away with a bucket of plump apples, a giant jar of local honey, some cider and a wonderful new set of memories. I love this tradition and I look forward to one day sharing it with our children!
I love New York. And couples in love. And sunsets. And goldendoodles! Combine all of these things for a Portrait Session and I'm one happy girl!!
I met Emma and Kacy through my church here in Jersey and they are such cute couple! Though I was sad to see them move to Utah I was overjoyed to photograph them with NYC as their backdrop before they left town. So if you’ve spent anytime with me (especially recently) you’ll know that I’m 100% obsessed with goldendoodles (golden retriever + poodle mix) and want one desperately! I told Emma jokingly that I would ONLY do their session if they brought their doodle, Yogi, along. When they showed up with Yogi in a bow tie, my heart about stopped! Emma and Kacy are a beautiful couple but its easy to see that Yogi steals the show- just look at that face! We even had a couple tourists (who didn’t speak any English) stop us and wanted to take photos with Yogi!! At the end of their session I showed one little photo to Emma as a sneak peak to which she said, “Oh Caitlin, this is exactly what I was wanting!” Hearing that was music to this photographer’s ears! I’m always honored to photograph special moments in time for my clients and work hard to marry their idea’s with my vision. Emma, Kacy, and Yogi will be truly missed here in Jersey but hopefully our paths will cross again someday. I love that these photos will always remind them of the wonderful pocket of time they spent living along Hudson. "Beyond the Fog Lies Clarity." -Anonymous I've known Max for as long as I can remember and we've been best friends pretty much from the beginning. Not only is he a crazy talented dancer, but also a fiercely loyal friend. Growing up, Max was always the funny kid. When he told me he wanted to be a ballet dancer I thought he was joking. I always thought he was going to be an actor or a comedian when he grew up. But he proved me wrong and worked his butt off to become such an incredible dancer and technician.
Every time I see him dance he is stronger, more disciplined, and grows in his artistry. So proud of who he's become as a dancer and a person. He is currently in between seasons with Carolina Ballet and spent a couple of weeks this summer visiting NYC. It had been few years since our last photo shoot so I was excited to photograph him in front of the skyline at Liberty State Park in Jersey City. I loved the way the blue and grey hues of his clothing blended into the skyline. Here's the final product of our collaboration! 3 years ago today I married the most kind, loving, and wonderful man. Some of you may have met Josh during your sessions as he often comes along as my assistant. As CCP continues to branch out and photograph weddings, you will most likely see him as the second photographer. His talents and abilities never cease to amaze and impress me.
So just before our 1 year anniversary, my mom told me about this photo idea she had seen online. So the first year of your anniversary you pose with a photo from your wedding day. Then for every year after that you take a photo with the image you had made the previous year. Each year the photos get smaller and smaller! I resisted the idea at first but I remember her saying, "This will be so fun to look back on years from now." I'm so glad I trusted her because I know what she meant now. Our original wedding photo already looks so tiny, even at 3 years of marriage! Since our work schedules are both so crazy we took advantage of our day off yesterday to have a picnic in the park to celebrate. I feel like its so important to make family traditions. Now a days, dates and outings are harder to come by so its even more important to capture these moments to remember and treasure. And with our anniversary tradition, I know at least I will have one great photo of us every year! |
