I always love meeting and photographing new families. On Black Friday, Laura gathered her family altogether for a big family portrait session and we had a lovely time. The weather was perfect and we practically had Heritage Park all to ourselves. It's so important to get photos with the one you love when you're altogether. I particularly loved photographing the oldest grandson who was far from camera shy! Wishing Laura and fam a very merry Christmas.

"Family is not an important thing. It's everything." -Michael J. Fox I've been blessed to know Stephenie and her family for several years through church. For their family portraits we started off in their loving home where I photographed Irene, Alex, and Emily with their instruments. Then we ventured to a local park to take in the beautiful portraits of everyone all together. We even snuck in some time for a few pics of Emily showing off her gymnastic skills.
This family has been through so much this past year since Harvey hit and I was more than thrilled to take their family portraits. I hope that as they continue to rebuild, that these photos will serve as a reminder of their love, hope, and strength. pas de deux /ˌpä də ˈdo͝o/ noun: a dance for two One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is watching kids grow in front of my camera! Jason has matured from sweet little boy to a kind and thoughtful young man over the years. I was thrilled that he brought his beautiful and lovely girlfriend, Indi, along for his most recent portrait session. During the school year, Jason and Indi study at the prestigious HARID Conservatory, a professional training school for gifted young dancers. Jason's portrait sessions are always so much fun but adding Indi into the mix this time made things even more exciting. She is a gorgeous dancer and her energy is infectious! The two of them together make a perfect pair. Enjoy their fun loving, effortlessly beautiful portraits!
This awesome family was a wonderful way to finish out my year. Since the whole family was in town for the holidays, it was a perfect time to get everyone together for a session. I love that about the holidays- it brings us close to the loved ones we may not usually see! Dawn chose the beautiful Heritage Park (quickly becoming a new favorite for me!) for our location and we had a wonderful time! It may have been a bit chilly that morning, because Houston decided to have a winter this year, but they were all troopers. When everyone arrived at the park I asked if we wanted to do the big family photos first or start off in groups, to which the matriarch of the family quickly replied, "Family First!" Though her intent was to get out of the cold as quickly as possible, the phrase "Family First" put a HUGE grin on my face. I've known this family for a long time and no how important their family is to them. Honored to have forever captured them together in family portraits!
A year ago today I had the great fortune of ringing in the New Year with Kate & Chris as they became husband and wife! To celebrate their anniversary, here's a look back at their special day. So honored they chose me to be their photographer and share in the day with them. I loved bearing witness of their true love and wish them many more happy anniversaries to come. As always, much thanks goes out to my forever groom, Josh, for second shooting for me!
Happy New Year! |
