Since my sister Natalie bought this adorable crown (from Little Blue Olive) I've made it a point to photograph Maddie on her "half" birthday, first at 6 months, then at 18 months, and now at 2 1/2 years. The collage seen above are my favorites from all of her "Halfsies" sessions. Its so fun to see how she changes and grows, all the while still showing us her crazy, adorable personality.
I've quickly learned that with toddlers, there is no such thing as "posing" or telling them what to do. And it's really better this way- let them do their thing!! It takes the pressure off of them and they can show their true selves. Maddie is at the stage where we know she understands what we want her to do but chooses to a) not do it and b) pretend like she doesn't hear you when obviously she does! Regardless, I think we got some pretty cute photos. My oh my, how I love this little niece of mine.

Just got back from a quick trip to TX. Though my main focus for the trip was for a choreography gig I was ecstatic to snatch a few photos for my sister, Natalie, and her growing family. I'm so excited for the arrival of my newest niece come this July.... if she's anything like her big sister, I know we're in for a treat! Natalie wanted some simple yet elegant maternity shots in the nursery. I loved that she wore a delicate pink lace top to match the soft pink curtains. And can we talk about how tiny that bump is?! It really isn't fair. I love this sister of mine. She's such a beautiful mama to crazy, adorable Maddie and I'm overjoyed that she's bringing another incredible girl into our family and the world!
Stay tuned for the Family Maternity Session we also got in while I was in town. |
