"When Words Fail, Music Speaks." -Hans Christian Andersen Kevin is a talented young violinist graduating from high school this spring. I've had the immense pleasure of watching him grow up his whole life. Coming from a musical family, it was no surprise that he started playing the violin at the ripe age of three. It was inspiring to watch his technique and artistry evolve over the through the years. With his talented, lovely piano playing mother, Annette, they shared their special talents on my wedding day, such a very special memory for me. Every time I hear him play it fills my soul with joy! After I photographed his string quartet, we explored the grounds of Rice University for his Senior Portraits. I loved from the get go he was super into the whole senior session experience- expressing ideas, being open to posing and direction, treking all the way across campus to go to a certain spot he had envisioned photos. It felt only fitting to involve his beloved violin (And I could write a whole separate blog post about the story of his violin- it's older than our country!! So cool!!) The whole session was simply a delight and I truly feel that the images capture his passion for music and the intelligent, handsome young man that he's become. Great things are headed your way, Kevin! Thanks for letting me a part of your journey.
