"Keep your face toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you."
Another Fall semester is here which means I have a brand new class of seniors to photograph. Kicking off (quite literally) my Senior Sessions this year was the beautiful Yuki. We met up on campus at Rice University, one of my favorite place's to shoot, and we instantly clicked. After snapping a few traditional portrait shots, Yuki traded her wedge heels for her beloved pointe shoes.
"It's good to have an end to journey toward,
but it is the journey that matters in the end."
A few months back I met Adam when I photographed him and his friends, Varsity String Quartet. I was excited to photograph his Senior Portraits recently before he heads off to the University of Texas this Fall. I truly love senior sessions... one on one time, getting to know my client, and showcasing their unique self thru my artistic perspective. In the short time I've spent with Adam, he's shown me what a truly remarkable young man and I loved capturing this special moment in time. Wishing him the best as he journeys on to college! Hey 2020 graduates- it's never too early to schedule your Senior Session. I want to get you on my calendar! Click here.

Cali's Senior Session was a gift from start to finish. In the planning stage when we were emailing back and forth she mentioned wanting to photograph at her local neighborhood park. She lives in an artsy neighborhood by the water and I was constantly inspired- behind every corner was of color, creativity, and light! I love that when she looks back at these images years from now she will not only see beautiful artistic images but they'll also transport back to all the special memories she made on the streets and on the shore she grew up on.
"What gives a girl
Power and punch?
Is it charm, is it poise?
No, it's hairspray"
-Marc Shaiman & Scott Wittman
Lexi's sweet spirit, intelligence, and beauty are the things that give her power and punch! Lexi is graduating this Spring and was honored to photograph her Senior Portraits recently. I had done her older brother, Jason's senior portraits a few years back and knowing how fun her family is, I was sure I was in for another great session! (I had he pleasure of seeing Lexi perform in her high school production of Hairspray in February and she belted out the fabulous scat at the end of "It's Hairspray," the song quoted above.)
"We are young
So let's set the world on fire
We can burn brighter
Than the sun."
When I asked Alyssa's mom if she had any specific wants for this prom portrait session she said, "Just have fun and be creative!" And that is exactly what we did! It was a solid fun filled hour of posing, squad goals, skirt swooshing and living our best Vanity Fair dream shoot lives. I loved seeing both guys and gals show off their individual styles in suits and gowns. Having never attended prom myself, it was thrilling to share in their excitement. It's so special to think about how these will be photos that they will revisit years and years from now as they reminisce on their high school experience. Hope y'all had a wonderful Senior Prom, thanks for having me along!
