Lindsy and I were classmates and cast members of many children theatre productions. In our adult life it has been wonderful to reconnect and become friends once again. Early December, Lindsy reached out to me about booking a headshot session. With a few reschedules thanks to the crazy weather we've had recenetly (seriously, what's up with this cold Houston winter?) we finally got together early January for her session, my first of 2018! Lindsy photographed beautifully. Her curly brown hair is just gorgeous and her eyes glistened. I am so lucky to have clients who are as beautiful on the outside as they are the inside. Wishing her the best as she uses these images to expand and grow in her professional endeavors.

Today we celebrated Maddie's, I mean, Wonder Woman's, belated birthday. Maddie's birthday is at the beginning of December, but since Natalie, her mother/my sister is in fully Nutcracker swing at that point, we always throw her party in January. Party pics to come, but until then enjoy our Wonder Woman themed photo shoot from Galveston. Proud of this sweet little niece of mine. The last four years have been filled with so much joy with Maddie in our lives. She really is a supergirl in our book! Happy Birthday, Maddie!
This awesome family was a wonderful way to finish out my year. Since the whole family was in town for the holidays, it was a perfect time to get everyone together for a session. I love that about the holidays- it brings us close to the loved ones we may not usually see! Dawn chose the beautiful Heritage Park (quickly becoming a new favorite for me!) for our location and we had a wonderful time! It may have been a bit chilly that morning, because Houston decided to have a winter this year, but they were all troopers. When everyone arrived at the park I asked if we wanted to do the big family photos first or start off in groups, to which the matriarch of the family quickly replied, "Family First!" Though her intent was to get out of the cold as quickly as possible, the phrase "Family First" put a HUGE grin on my face. I've known this family for a long time and no how important their family is to them. Honored to have forever captured them together in family portraits!
First blog post of the new year! Welcome to 2018, y'all!
Recently I photographed my friend Kirstin. We first met several years back performing in 42nd Street at Casa Manana in Fort Worth. Kirstin is an incredibly talented dancer and performer- her Broadway credits include Cinderella & A Bronx Tale. In May of last year, while she was still in A Bronx Tale, she tore her ACL. Having family here in Houston, she has spent the last 6 months down here for surgery and recovery. And can we talk about what an epic 6 months she picked to be in Houston? She lived through Harvey, celebrated the Astros winning the World Series, and saw snow fall on Houston for the first time in almost a decade!
A year ago today I had the great fortune of ringing in the New Year with Kate & Chris as they became husband and wife! To celebrate their anniversary, here's a look back at their special day. So honored they chose me to be their photographer and share in the day with them. I loved bearing witness of their true love and wish them many more happy anniversaries to come. As always, much thanks goes out to my forever groom, Josh, for second shooting for me!
Happy New Year!
